Basic time structure of a session:
This is the basic time frame of a session. Our first time together is a bit longer before and after as I answer all your questions that you had when we started and didn’t know you had until you experienced a session.

Why is the 10 minutes before the energy exchange important?
We are setting the intention for our time together. We discuss what’s happening physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually that you’d like to focus on during our session. The thing to remember is that you and I can set an intention for your session but the universe knows best. This means that in addition to what you want or maybe instead of what you want, the universe directs me where they healing is needed.
What do I need to know before we start our energy healing session?
Energy healing works whether or not I’m touching you. I ask what’s most comfortable for you. If you are comfortable with me putting my hands on you, they will lightly touch the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hips, legs and feet. When I’m working on other areas, my hands are within six inches of your body to transmit the energy.
We will go over any questions you might have about the session that aren’t answered in this article. It’s important to me that you are comfortable and have all your questions answered.
What to expect during an energy healing session
You will be fully clothed on a massage table or a reclining chair based on your comfort. For a distance session, you will be where you are comfortable. I suggest a reclining chair, couch or bed. (BTW if your fur baby wants to be with you, let them. They love energy healing and will leave when they’ve had enough.)
I connect with the universal energy and am a conduit for this energy as it moves through me to you. For this portion, I’m using Reiki which was my first introduction to energy healing. I go where I’m guided to go but your chakras are a starting point. Based on what we agreed to, my hands are lightly touching you in areas or my hands are hovering above you within six inches. I take notes of any messages I get so they aren’t forgotten and deliver any light language healing that comes through.
What you might experience during your session
Just as every person is unique, every energy healing session is different. Here are some things that my clients have experienced:
- seeing colors
- hearing sounds
- having loved ones visit
- memories of things long forgotten
- feeling temperature changes
- feeling tingles/ energy sensations
- hearing voices
- feeling like I’m touching you while I’m actually near another area of your body
- deep relaxation
- emotional release
- sleep (75% of my clients fall asleep)

- NOTHING- and that’s fine too. The energy healing is happening anyway!

What you might hear from me during your energy healing session
We get confirmation from me that energy is moving in three ways. I yawn, burp and sneeze. A yawn is energy moving. A burp is releasing energy and a sneeze is when stuck energy is being broken up and released. There are even more ways others release energy during sessions. In addition, you might hear me speaking Light Language. It will sound like a foreign language and it’s a connection to your soul. The language goes beyond ego and helps heal at a much deeper level.
At times, if I know you are still awake, I might give you direction to focus on a particular area of your body because I’m getting a message that your attention needs to be there while I do the energy healing.
After your energy healing session
Once we are done, we will discuss any messages I received or anything that came up for you. I start with what you experienced. It’s important for your experience to be witnessed and noted before I interject. Then I share what came through for me. This often leads to a deeper dive into your healing work. Last, we will also talk about whether another session makes sense for you.
I suggest that you take some time after a session to sit quietly and allow for the messages to sink in or for any residual messages to surface. Taking time to journal is beneficial because it will help you keep track of your journey. Last, drink water. We are moving the energy in your body and it’s similar to a massage that you want to move any toxins out of your system.
For a distance energy healing session
For an energy healing distance session, we talk by phone or zoom during the first part of your session. We’ll then hang up (or go dark screen and mute on zoom) and you’ll get in a comfortable position sitting or lying down and I’ll deliver the energy healing.
I keep track of messages I receive. I have you set an alarm for 40 minutes and have you call me at a designated finishing time. (Chances are you will fall asleep so I’d rather you set an alarm than call you and wake you up.) If we are on zoom, it’s likely that we’ll come back to the screen at the same time. I will then share anything I receive. Your session follows the same 10/40/10-minute layout that an in-person session follows.
As I said earlier, if your fur babies want to join you for your session, then let them! They love the energy and will leave when they have had enough.
