How I learned to use a Pendulum

Who knew learning to use a pendulum would help me with a water/ computer mash up. Water and computers don’t mix but we know that already. What I didn’t know was that learning how to use a pendulum would help me stay calm during a “water meets computer” incident.

I’ve been fascinated by the ability of using a pendulum for answers.  I’d seen it used during healings to see if chakras were out of balance.  When I think back on it, I remember seeing adults using a needle and thread to see if a woman was having a boy or a girl and how many children she was having.  It would seem that was pendulum usage for a different purpose

Before I learned how to use a pendulum, I had a conversation with a friend, and said I wanted to take a course to learn how to use a pendulum.  She just sucked in her breath and said “You don’t need a class. Just do it.”  Um. Ok. “Can you tell me more?” I asked her.

She explained that you connect with your pendulum and then you ask it to show you yes, show you know and then you test it with some questions that you KNOW the answer to. Sounded easy enough!

So, I bought a pendulum, and in typical Yvette style, it sat there for a while.  Then one day I did what my friend suggested. I asked it to show me yes (for me it’s up/down) and a no (for me it’s side to side).

Then I confirmed that it was showing me yes and no by asking questions that were definite yeses and nos.  “My name is Yvette.”  “I am a woman.” “My name is Fred.” “I am a man.”  I live in Paris.  Etc.  I was having a blast with it and just amazed at this new tool and what it might bring to my healing practice.

So, then I accidentally spilled a glass of water on my computer.  I know putting a phone in a bag of rice worked so I thought perhaps putting my computer in a bag of rice would work as well. While it sat in a garbage bag filled with rice, I decided to employ the pendulum to see what type of new computer to get because I didn’t really think that this rice in a bag thing was going to work.

Do I get a Mac?    No

Do I get a PC?  No

Ok. I’m confused because those are the only two computer choices that I know of. So, I ask again and get the same answers.

Then I ask- Do I get a new computer?   No.

Will my computer work again?  Yes

I didn’t tell a soul that I asked the pendulum this question. I mean, I didn’t want to seem crazy (Although I’d seen it work for other things but I’d never worked with it.)

So, I waited almost four days to see if the pendulum was right.  (I suppose I could have asked the pendulum how many days to leave it there but hindsight is 20/20.)  I took the computer out of the bag, booted it up and it worked!

Thus began my relationship with the pendulum. Since then, I’ve used it for many things. Personally, I’ve asked questions for direction, whether I keep something or get rid of it, if something is good for my body etc.

In my energy healing sessions, I use the pendulum to choose a card deck to work with, pick crystals if I’m not getting a hit about which to use and to indicate if chakras are moving clockwise, counterclockwise or are stagnant. If I’m using it for the chakras, I do it when we start and then when we are finished to see if the energy has changed.

The pendulum is a tool that you can easily learn and use for everyday purposes.
