What are the Chakras?
Plainly put chakras are energy centers in the body. Everything is energy. Every. Thing. That means that we are too.
Chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word for “wheel” (cakra). It’s helpful to think of the chakras as wheels because in the ideal world they should be open, aligned and spinning clockwise at an even pace.
Your chakras are the organs of your energetic world. Chakras are energetically connected to your nerves and organs and energetic body; therefore, they impact your spiritual, physical, mental and emotional well-being. For the best well-being, you want them spinning clockwise and at a smooth pace and open to receive and release energy. When they are blocked, physical, emotional, spiritual and mental issues can arise. Think of a chakra like a revolving door between the inside and outside world.
Each of the seven chakras is said to run along your spine and correspond with a name, number, color and physical body counterparts. These doors between the inside and outside world- or the organs of your energetic world- can be impacted for some of the characteristics of optimal health. You can utilize food, crystals, essential oils, yoga, archangels, mantras and actions to support them. Additionally, an energy healer can help you attend to your chakras to get them in optimal shape.
How do I know if my chakras are balanced?
The easiest answer to whether you have chakras out of balance is “Are you feeling in optimal health mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally?” If the answer to any one of these is “no” or you just feel like something is off, but you aren’t sure what, there’s a good chance one or more of your chakras is out of balance.
Life happens so you can have a balanced chakra one day and then you have an unexpected loss and your life turns upside down. That is why energy and healing work is ongoing. We keep living so our chakras can get disrupted and need some assistance to get back in balance.
The Base Chakra
The base chakra is located at the bottom of your spine- the coccyx area and is like the foundation of your house. You want it solid.
You want a solid foundation on which all else can be built. If this chakra is balanced, you’ll feel safe, secure and living with purpose. If things aren’t balanced, it can manifest in ways that showcase feelings that you don’t feel secure.
Words associated with the base chakra are security, safety, survival, basic needs, physicality of self.
